Paper Flowers is a happy medium between a mixed digital media theatrical performance and a curated art exhibition. Library assistant and aspiring writer, Gemma, thinks she’s won the love lottery when she meets charming engineer, Alex. The two develop a seemingly fairytale relationship full of romance and frivolous gifts. However, Gemma faces an inner turmoil as Alex begins to take control over her life and friendships. Will the two be able to work through their differences, or will Gemma stand up to his abusive behaviour? A new and exciting way to explore theatre and storytelling, this unique online romantic drama explores themes of love, growth, boundaries, personal development and toxicity in relationships. Paper Flowers will be exhibited completely online as part of Sprung Festival 2020.
